The third Friday of every month DCCC hosts a social gathering somewhere in Shanghai. The purpose of this event is to welcome newcomers and visitors, to network and just plain promote Danish “fredags hygge”. Small choir looking for guys! We are just about to start a small Scandinavian choir and are now looking for more bases and tenors. Some experience would be great. We will decide ourselves what we would like to sing and some sort of concert by the summer will be our first goal. En gang om måneden mødes danske piger/ kvinder i Shanghai på en restaurant inde i Shanghai kl. 19.00 spiser, hygger, hjælper hinanden med informationer og dagligdagens små udfordringer, og efter maden spiller vi Balut indtil ca. kl. 23. Vi plejer at hjælpes ad med fælllestransport, afhængig af hvor man kommer fra. Vi spiller alle måneder undtagen Juli og August. Balut opstart d. 9. september 2008 kl. 19.00. The Shanghai Vikings has been playing in the "Shanghai International Football League" since 1995. A well organized league - with now 20 teams split in 2 divisions. We play FIFA rules, 11 aside on good grass turf pitches just outside Shanghai. The Shanghai Vikings has always been a very joyful crowd, not always the winning team (we have yet to win the league) - but still has managed to perform fairly well in both the local and other tournaments. The Shanghai Vikings has won the famous Viking Cup both in 2006 and 2008. We have started to profile the team better- get funny and fluffy helmets that we are so famous for. We have started to practice midweek and the team is promoting itself where we can. Despite a strict Danish spine in the team, we also have allowed for a few non Danes to enjoy and not at least contribute to this amazing "institution" as we like to call the Shanghai Vikings. The team has clearly improved skills on the pitch over the years, and we are aiming at the top spot in the league this year.
